Hidden Features: Why we chose to hide the zipper (and more).
When we set out to create a dog bed that fit our home, we had a few pillars in mind when starting the design process. We wanted a dog bed that was modern, durable, and most importantly functional. As dog parents, we knew that if our beds were to be functional, they had to be washable. Dogs play, get dirty, and accidents happen -- and these are all moments we embrace together. Having a little extra dirt enter the home comes with having pups; we can’t change that. But we can make it easier to keep their beds clean.

WHY CANVAS
To create a washable bed, we knew the fabric had to be machine washable and durable. Canvas is typically made of cotton, and is known to be sturdy, versatile, easy to wash and to care for. By blending cotton with synthetic fibers (our canvas consists of 85% cotton, 15% polyester), the textile blend becomes stronger and more resilient.
HIDDEN ZIPPERS
Additionally, to make sure the bed was easy to take apart to wash, we designed unique hidden zippers for each side and bottom compartment. There’s a hidden zipper nestled inside each side compartment. The zipper for the base compartment lays on the bottom of the bed, and we covered it to prevent scratching on your floor. And because they’re hidden, you don’t need to worry about your dog chewing it.
Each compartment acts as its own “cover.” (Imagine a couch cushion cover.) They’re all connected to form the sturdy hex design. All inserts can be removed, and the bed can be completely disassembled for ease of washing and drying. The cover can be washed separately from the interior pillows, which is great if you just need to clean the exterior.
